Unlike “vanilla” ETL tools, CDRlive’s proprietary ETL is specifically designed for the massive workload environments of global telecommunications operators. This area of data management is often the weak point of most telco DW systems, yet with CDRlive, Customers have the reassurance of market-leading performance and a rock-solid platform for DW and BI success.
The four primary stages of CDRlive’s ETL processes are as follows:
Collect and Convert
CDRlive extracts automatically all network data and processes it into a single, consistent format. CDRlive provides full support for:
- All traffic types – mobile, fixed line, IP, multimedia etc.
- All network types – PSTN, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, CDMA, EVDO, WiMAX etc.
- All network vendors – Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia-Siemens, Cisco etc.
CDRlive performs pre-database enrichment of raw data, using additional data sources as required. Examples include the enrichment of CDRs with LNP data, LERG data, Guiding data (e.g. Customer address), device data (e.g. handset features) and financial data.
Summarizing and Profiling
CDRlive provides for pre-database summarizing and profiling of data in order to optimize downstream query processes. For example, the profiling engine will profile all MDNs on both the host and competing networks for a given market or sub-market.
All data is loaded in real time into the CDRlive Data Warehouse. The CDRlive ETL offers unmatched performance in this area, and has achieved loading speeds in excess of 150,000 rows per second (or 13 Billion rows per day) in live production.
